Sculptural Work Glare

This large scale panel, is my first project using water-jet cutting and also the full area of my large flat bed glass kiln. It was made in response to the Scottish Glass Society’s exhibition Trove which invited glass artists to visit and take inspiration from the collection of Perth Museum and Art Gallery to make new work. My source of inspiration was both the extensive natural history collection and also the Magnus Jackson collection of Victorian glass plate photography, images from which are printed onto the surface of this piece in enamels.
Glare is currently installed in Perth Museum & Art Gallery until 21st December 2011 as part of the Trove exhibition.
