Our history dates back to 1328 and our Royal Charter was originally granted by Charles l in 1638. Being dedicated to the preservation of stained glass and the skills necessary to produce this beautiful art form, our members range from highly skilled crafts people to those who simply enjoy an involvement in our worthy and important cause. We offer both individual and corporate membership packages with great benefits including opportunities to participate in events such as lectures and cultural events.

The Glaziers Golf Society

The golf society traditionally meets twice a year, at Porters Park Golf Club in Hertfordshire in the Spring and at Temple Golf Club in Berkshire in the autumn. In addition the Company regularly enters a team of four in the Prince Arthur Cup, an inter-livery event held at Walton Heath in May.
The pattern for the spring and autumn meetings is as follows. Members are expected to bring a guest, with whom they will play in the morning singles. They then team up for the afternoon greensomes. That said, the Secretary will make arrangements for those who would rather play 18 holes rather than 36, or for those who come without a guest.
The day starts with coffee and bacon rolls, and we have a snack lunch and dinner (Porters Park) and lunch and tea (Temple).
The new summer meeting will be at West Hill Golf Club and comprises just 18 holes of fourballs followed by lunch.
The standard of play is the usual society mix with most of the members playing with handicaps of between 12 and 28, the majority of members in the 18 – 28 bracket. Whilst the skill of the members could be described as modest the quality of the courses and their catering is without doubt first class. The meetings provide a very relaxed and enjoyable way of entertaining friends and introducing them to fellow Liverymen. For an idea of the atmosphere have a look at our golf gallery.
Membership is open to any Liveryman or Freeman and any one interested should contact the Secretary (Past Master Steve Graham).
